VIRTUAL TRAINING
“She has a mental block” echoes in gyms around the globe.
To be honest, I HATE that term! Telling a child or a teenager that they have a mental block KILLS their spirit.
Many of the athletes I work with feel debilitated after being “diagnosed” with a block. The worst part about this is that the athlete has no idea what’s going on, so all types of unpleasant feelings take root.
But what happens when you train athletes’ minds like you train their bodies?
What happens when you teach them about their amygdala and fight, flight, or freeze?
What happens when you lead by example by conquering your own fears?
In my opinion, teaching athletes about how to manage their unpleasant feelings is just as important as teaching them to flip, fly, and/or stunt.
And that’s why the ‘Mind Full’ program was created. I can not express how inspired I am by the athletes who have completed the program over the past couple of years.
Watching them grow.
Watching them come back from injuries.
Watching them stare down fears and come out victorious.
Man…it’s exactly the type of feelings the world needs right now. I am currently forming new groups.
